Beautifying Whispering Hills

Making the community better
At the 2002 annual meeting, the board presented an idea for the entrance area of Whispering Hills. The idea was to select an area that needed improvement and plant trees. It was enthusiastically supported by the members and a vote was taken to proceed with this project. The first area selected for our "Beautifying Whispering Hills" project is the entrance area of Whispering Hills.

This area is the first impression that people have when they enter Whispering Hills and we want it to look as good as possible.

In the "T" of the road and part of the road easement that splits off to go to Shoreline Dr, trees were planted. These will be evergreen so will give color to the area year-around.

In the beginning they might not have a lot of impact, but wait a few years. They will add to the natural beauty of the area.

On Saturday, May 3, 2003, ten members came to plant 30 trees in the berm and along the fence line. Thanks to everyone who came to help.

Thanks to
Shades of Green!

Jeff and Mary McCauley, owners of Shades of Green in Frisco, Texas, helped the association with one of our first projects in 2003. Jeff recommended the following types of trees and shrubs for the area: Eastern Red Cedar, Elaeagnus and Yaupon Holly. They are all evergreen and drought tolerant once established.
