After 35 years, the majority of roads were paved with asphalt.
Every annual meeting, the topic of discussion were the roads. Up until this past year, they were maintained with gravel on a very small association budget. Well, good-bye gravel roads!

In 2002, there was an aggressive campaign to raise extra funds. Record support for the project made it a success. The annual dues plus $350 dollars was requested from each property owner.

With the generosity of a few members who loaned money to the Association, paving was extended even further than first planned. Over two miles of roads was paved with highway quality asphalt. Thank you WHPOA members for your support.

What can YOU do to help maintain the roads?

  • Keep loose rocks and debris swept off ... ESPECIALLY in hot weather. If you own property near asphalt, it would be a big service to the Association for homeowner's to keep watch over each adjoining section.

  • Load limit of 35,000 pounds (same as half load in a concrete truck). These heavy trucks will speed the formation of pot holes.

  • Fill cracks with liquid asphalt patch as needed. Water seeping into these cracks will hasten deterioration.

  • Avoid driving on the edges of the road

  • Don't spin tires!

Rushing Paving Company

What an outstanding job Rushing Paving did paving the roads for Whispering Hills. The job was done on time and on budget, working during the extreme heat of July. What a great crew from Denison, Texas. Thank you Rushing!

F.Y.I.

Cracks in the road develop because we don't have curbs to hold in the asphalt. Repeated driving on the extreme edges of the road shifts the road edges further out and cracks form. Please avoid driving on or off the edges if possible.
